.For their contributions in obtaining the release of social critic Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has thanked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and activist Yele Sowore.
In the aftermath of VeryDarkMan’s release, Adeyanju recognized not just the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Olayinka Olukoyode, but also the Nigerian artist David Adeleke, better known as Davido.
According to the DAILY POST, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been holding the notorious VDM since his detention in Abuja on Friday.
Many young Nigerians were outraged by his arrest and called for his unconditional release.
The EFCC announced Tuesday that the activist had been arrested in response to multiple petitions that claimed he had ignored numerous invitations. The social critic was later declared to have been granted administrative bail by the anti-graft bureau.
Wednesday was the day he was released.
