After Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League final victory over Manchester United, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta congratulated the team.
United were defeated 1-0 in Bilbao on Wednesday night by Spurs, thanks to a goal from Brennan Johnson just before halftime. This is their first major trophy in 17 years, and they’re also assured a spot in the Champions League.
However, Arsenal have gone trophy-less for the season, having not won a major trophy since the FA Cup in 2015. I congratulate them,” Arteta told reporters on Thursday in regards to Spurs’ Europa League victory.
I believe they have overcome a season full of challenges and setbacks, which ultimately allowed them to enjoy a lovely moment.
Congratulations are in order. This is a sporting event, and I have no doubt that the participants have given it their all to win.
