Bala Mohammed The opposition cannot count on federal help to win elections

Senator Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, has warned opposition politicians against relying on federal aid to obtain electoral victory, claiming that the era of political imposition in Nigeria has ended.

The governor made the statement on Monday after casting his ballot at Model Central Primary School, Yalwan Duguri, in Alkaleri Local Government Area during the ongoing state local government elections.

According to Mohammed, recent electoral developments, especially the outcome of the Osun State governorship race, have proved that federal influence no longer guarantees victory at the elections.

According to him, certain opposition parties’ choice to boycott the municipal elections rather than test their popularity among voters was a tactical error.
