Farouk Aliyu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has claimed that the party’s members and supporters took Governor Ademola Adeleke for granted during the Osun state governorship election.
According to Aliyu, some APC members believed that the Federal Government would ensure the party’s victory, so they underestimated Adeleke and his supporters.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Monday, the APC leader admitted that the assumption contributed to the party’s defeat in the election.
He said, “Yes, there were sentiments, and I believe some members of our party went too far. Some believed that the federal government would simply drive everyone and record the results.
