Sky Bet Championship team, Birmingham City, is currently in discussions to sign Ajax striker, Chuba Akpom, this summer, according to Naijatrial.
The Blues are looking to bring the former Arsenal player in on loan with a future obligation to purchase.
Ajax has informed Akpom that he should seek a new club as he is no longer part of their plans, having been deemed surplus to requirements by the multiple Dutch champions. The Nigerian-born forward was loaned to French side Lille in January.
During his time with Les Dogues, the 29-year-old made 16 league appearances, contributing three goals and one assist.
Akpom transferred to Ajax from Middlesbrough in 2023 after an impressive season where he finished as the top scorer in the Sky Bet Championship, netting 28 goals in 40 league matches. He also received the accolade of best player in the league for that season.
