Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an APC chieftain in Osun State, has confirmed that Bola Oyebamiji, the party’s candidate for governor on August 15, 2026, has the support of President Bola Tinubu.
In a Sunday speech delivered in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area, Oyintiloye denied rumours that Adegboyega Oyetola, the president and minister of marine and blue economy, had deserted Oyebamiji.
While campaigning at the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, he spoke to journalists and called the claim “false” and the work of “desperate opposition elements” who wanted to sow discord within the APC.
The party’s progress in Osun is being closely watched by President Tinubu and Oyetola, who are also offering the necessary political leadership and strategic support, he claims.
The unwavering support for Oyebamiji by President Tinubu and our leader, Oyetola, has never wavered.
To say otherwise is to mislead the people with unfounded claims. Osun will be reclaimed by the APC; the party is unified, focused, and determined.
According to the ex-lawmaker, the APC’s national and state leadership are putting in a lot of time and effort to win Osun for the party. He also advised party members to ignore misinformation.
He went on to say that the state’s major party leaders, such as Tajudeen Lawal, Chief Bisi Akande, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the national secretary, and others, were all dedicated to the party’s success and were working nonstop.
He emphasised the importance of party members in all 30 LGAs and the Area Office ramping up grassroots mobilisation, talking to voters, and highlighting the accomplishments of the Tinubu and Oyetola administrations in addition to Oyebamiji’s plan for development.
Violence, intimidation, and other types of lawlessness that could undermine the election process were also warned of by Oyintiloye to the opposition.
“Politically motivated violence, including but not limited to mauling and extrajudicial killings, must be firmly rejected” he declared.
Additionally, he emphasised the importance of running a campaign centred around issues and supported by reasonable, workable answers. He firmly believed that people should be able to peacefully use their right to vote.
“Social media alone will not be enough to win this election. He emphasised the importance of staying connected with the people on a local level and making house calls to deliver his message of hope and accountable leadership.
All signs point to the Osun APC regaining control in the upcoming governorship race, thus he asked party members to stay united and work together to win on August 15.
We are all working together for Oyebamiji’s triumph. He assured the people of Osun that the APC would emerge victorious thanks to President Tinubu’s backing, Oyetola’s leadership, the dedication of party members, and their support.
