Cole Palmer, a Chelsea player, has stated his thoughts on head coach Liam Rosenior in light of the club’s recent struggles.
The Englishman has defended Rosenior as the Blues approach their final six Premier League fixtures.
Rosenior became Chelsea’s head coach in January of this year, following the sacking of former coach Enzo Maresca.
Since his arrival, the Blues have failed to recapture their form, being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in the Round of 16 after losing 8-2 on aggregate to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Furthermore, they face hurdles in clinching a spot in the UCL for the current season, as they are now sixth in the rankings with 48 points from 32 matches.
In an interview with The Guardian, Chelsea player Cole Palmer discussed Liam Rosenior’s situation at the club.
He proposed that a comprehensive pre-season, combined with a thorough appraisal of the situation, would allow Rosenior to make substantial change at Stamford Bridge.
He commented, “Hiring a manager mid-season means there is no pre-season and little time for training. The emphasis is exclusively on the contests.
“However, the manager is skilled, and once he gets a full pre-season to effectively communicate his ideas and implement his preferred style of play, he is an amazing coach.
“If we, as players, perform to our potential and acquire the right players, both he and we as a collective can achieve significant progress.”
Cole Palmer has come under fire for failing to meet his typical standards in light of Chelsea’s recent poor performance.
The Englishman has also been troubled by injury, with 10 goals and three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
The Blues will now concentrate on the next FA Cup semi-final on April 26 and attempt to finish in the top five of the league.
