Adams Oshiomhole, the former Governor of Edo State and current Senator for Edo North, expressed his approval of Engr. Farouk Ahmed and Mr. Gbenga Komolafe’s resignation from Nigeria’s petroleum regulatory bodies, calling their departure essential for the nation’s economic well-being.
Oshiomhole shared his thoughts on Thursday during the evaluation of President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for the roles of Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
While voicing his opinion, the senator remarked, “He needed to be hanged.”
He continued, “In my earlier statement, I mentioned that if you don’t hang him, he will change Nigeria because anyone who opposes job creation in Nigeria, who favors importing and bringing poverty here while exporting our prosperity abroad, does not deserve to live.”
Oshiomhole also noted, “I am eager to see how his situation unfolds. I will still be celebrating tonight because of Farouk’s removal.”
Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), submitted his resignation roughly 24 hours ago amid disputes regarding his time in office.
