Justification for my distaste for visiting relatives – Peller

Nigerian video producer and streamer Habeeb Hamzat, better known by his stage name Peller, has spoken out against the pressures of shouldering young family duties.

The 19-year-old expressed his sadness at being the sole provider for his family in a recent chat with Sandra Benede, another TikToker. He mentioned that his parents and older siblings are still living.

He said that he sometimes feels like a parent as he is the one responsible for the family’s finances. He went on to say that he no longer wants to visit them and would rather pay money for maintenance.

“I am not feeling well,” Peller stated. I slept off in my car the other day and slept all the way until the next morning. This is too much for someone my age to handle, and I don’t like it. I’m not even close to twenty years old. This is unfair.

“Visiting my family is something I no longer enjoy. I simply send them items to check up on them. Living with my parents isn’t something I’m comfortable with anymore, therefore I’d rather not see them again. These days, my thinking is superior than theirs. Even though I have an older brother, I feel like a father to them.

“As a father, I struggle. I work nonstop. There are moments when I just want to disappear into thin air and hide in the United States. I really should do it, but I’d rather they not be concerned.

As a child, every time I went on a trip, I would long for the company of my mom. However, at this very moment, I am not missing any of my relatives. Jarvis is the only one I’ll miss. Even if I don’t miss them, I do talk to my relatives on the phone.
