Olusegun Mimiko, the former governor of Ondo State, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mimiko publicly revealed his defection on Thursday at the APC Secretariat in Ondo City, where he was greeted by party leaders and supporters as well as state chairman Kolawole Babatunde.
Mimiko is the first governor of Ondo State to hold office for two terms.
His defection follows the departure of many of his supporters to the APC in 2025, which is generally regarded as laying the foundation for his future support of the ruling party.
