I wrote to Peter Obi, the chairman of INEC, who is acting out Tinubu’s script

Peter Obi, a front-runner for presidency of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused Professor Joash Amupitan, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of carrying out a script purportedly written by presidency Bola Tinubu.

In an interview with News Central TV that has not yet been made public, the former governor of Anambra State made the accusation.

In quotes from the interview that News Central TV published, Obi revealed that he recently wrote to Amupitan, the head of INEC, informing him that he would not remain there indefinitely.

“I would have said a capital no if anyone had told me that we could use professors to run our elections and it would be worse,” Obi stated.

“Remember, you will not be here forever,” I wrote to the current INEC Chairman.

Obi responded, “Yes, completely,” when asked if INEC is the president’s agency. The INEC Chairman is acting out the script that the man who hired him wrote, no matter what he does today.
