In a message of condolence delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Bago referred to the former minister’s death as a significant loss, not just for Benue State, but for Nigeria as a whole.
He reflected on the substantial contributions made by the late Ogbeh to the development of the nation during his time in various roles.
The governor emphasized that this elder statesman will be fondly remembered for his expertise and influence in agriculture, politics, and playwriting.
He extended his sympathies to his counterpart in Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, the Och’Idoma, HRM John Elaigwu Odogbo, the family of the deceased, and the entire populace of the state during this difficult time.
The Governor offered prayers for the soul of the departed and for comfort to all those he has left behind.
Audu Ogbeh held the position of Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development from 2015 to 2019, served as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 to 2005, and was the Federal Minister of Communications from 1982 to 1983, among other roles.
