Allegations that certain persons were hired to sow discord inside the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bauchi State branch, have thrown the chapter into disarray.
Mr. Hassan Haruna, the state party chairman, made the accusation during a press conference in Bauchi on Sunday.
Some people said Haruna was suspended from office, but he denied it.
He said the move was an attempt by schemers and disillusioned factions to undermine the party’s rising profile in the state.
Some individuals allegedly held a press conference after claiming to have suspended the Bauchi State ADC chairman for alleged anti-party conduct, which triggered the problems.
On the other hand, Haruna maintained that the move ran counter to party principles and was therefore illegal.
He claims that, like other 36 states and the DC, he became chairman after a properly held state congress that was acknowledged by the party’s national leadership.
The chairman said that party officials were not subject to the punishment or removal processes outlined in the party’s constitution.
According to Haruna, the people responsible for the suspension allegation were paid thugs who wanted to sow discord and chaos within the party.
Former Bauchi LGA party chairman Aminu Muhammad is now an expelled member, and Babayo Musa Garba is still on suspension. They were informed of their suspension in letters dated January 2.
“Executives across all 20 local government areas in Bauchi State have been duly recognised by the ADC,” Haruna disclosed.
The party chairman strongly suggested that everyone, including party members, should not believe claims made by people who have publicly admitted to being imposters.
Furthermore, he emphasised that the ADC coalition welcomed any and all Nigerians who believed in the party’s mission to improve people’s lives and enhance democracy.
Party members were assured of Haruna’s unwavering dedication to democratic values as she pleaded with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security forces to pay attention to the issues at hand.
Aminu Muhammad responded by denying the claims and stating that Haruna did not have the authority to serve as chairman.
According to Muhammad, he had not gotten an official notice of expulsion.
He went on to say that any party official’s removal must adhere to due process.
