At Sunday’s 17th Headies Awards, which took place at Lagos’s Eko Convention Centre, rapper Odumodublvck made headlines when he refused to leave the stage after accepting his Next Rated award.
In the middle of his acceptance speech, Odumodublvck had his microphone cut off. He was asked to leave the stage so that the organizers could manage the time, but he declined.
Odumodublvck stormed the stage with his mother and more than ten men. In order for him to complete his address, the organizers had no choice except to reconnect his microphone.

Despite stiff competition, Odumodublvck emerged victorious in the Next Rated category, beating out Shallipopi, Qing Madi, Ayo Maff, and Nasboi—all of whom he frequently collaborates with. Afrobeats superstar Davido gave him the accolade. A car is up for grabs in the Headies’ next Rated award.
Last year, during the 16th Headies in Atlanta, Georgia, Odumodublvck won Rookie of the Year and received a mansion in Lagos as a gift, as reported by Naijatrial.
