The APC consensus candidate for the Yobe East senatorial seat is Governor Buni

Through a consensus, Governor Mai Mala Buni has emerged as the exclusive candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Yobe East Senatorial District.

The primary election was conducted on Monday at the Yobe State Arts and Cultural Centre in Damaturu. The event was attended by hundreds of APC members, including Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Geidam, Senator Musa Mustapha, and APC State Chairman Mohammadu Gadaka, among others.

The motion to adopt Governor Mai Mala Buni as the consensus candidate for the seat was initiated by Senator Musa Mustapha of the Yobe East Senatorial District. The motion was subsequently seconded by Hon. Lawan Shettima Ali, a member of the House of Representatives.

The certificate of return was presented to the APC Yobe East senatorial candidate by Ambassador Babagana Ajimi, the chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee for Yobe East.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Buni expressed his gratitude to APC stakeholders in Yobe East, stating that his endorsement as the solitary senatorial candidate is yet another opportunity to serve the people with dedication.

Under the leadership of its Resident Electoral Commissioner, Abubakar Maaji, the Independent National Electoral Commission oversaw the primary election.
