Mr. Taiwo Olatunbosun, who had previously served as Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, has been called back to the State Executive Council by Governor Biodun Oyebanji. This occurs just seven days after the governor’s cabinet was dissolved.
Mr. Yinka Oyebode, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, made this announcement on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.
According to the August 18 recall letter issued by Prof. Habaibat Adubiaro, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Olatunbosun will remain in his position as commissioner for information. The recall is effective immediately, according to the SSG.
According to the Naijatrial, Oyebanji shuffled things around on August 11 by dissolving the state executive council and ordering special advisers and commissioners to report to permanent secretaries or the highest-ranking government employees in their respective ministries, divisions, and agencies.
You may remember that six commissioners were kept on board to maintain continuity in important government sectors during the dissolution. These commissioners were Finance, Works, and Human Capital Development.
While reiterating his dedication to his “shared prosperity” vision, Governor Oyebanji had stated at the dissolution that the decision was an attempt to revitalise governance.
