Dr. Peter Mbah, governor of Enugu State, has spoken out about his sadness at the death of former President Mohammad Buhari, calling it a national tragedy.
In response to the tragic news, Governor Mbah expressed his condolences in a telegram he personally signed on Sunday. He praised Buhari, calling him one of the most honest and patriotic Nigerian presidents in the country’s history.
It was in 1984 and 2015, respectively, that President Buhari entered the realm of Nigerian governance. Truthfulness, sincerity, and patriotism were prominent features of his family trees on both occasions. His steadfast dedication to the principles of nationalism was on full display.
He personified selflessness and loyalty to one’s country. Leadership is about standing up for the oppressed and helping those in need; his life exemplifies this.
His tenure in public service was illustrious and unparalleled. Millions of people in Nigeria and abroad were charmed by his honesty and straightforwardness.
Even though his passing will be deeply felt, we can take solace in knowing that he lived an inspiring life and left behind immeasurable legacy that will endure forever.
This insightful general was a devoted patriot and a charismatic leader whose charisma was centred on Nigeria and its people. I express my condolences to the people of Enugu State and to the government for losing such a remarkable leader.
