Kidnapped Oyo APC leader has been released

Wale Oriade, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, was abducted few weeks ago and regained his release on Saturday after 39 days in captivity.

Wale Sadare, the Public Relations Officer of the APC in the state, confirmed this to  telephone from Ibadan, the state capital.

his office situated in PJ Square Shopping Complex, adjacent to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited station, Elewure, along Iyana Ajanla, Akala Motorway, New Garage, Ibadan.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants arrived in a blue Micra, occupied by a driver and an armed individual, who forcibly abducted Oriade and transported him in the same vehicle.

The eyewitness stated, “The nature of the assault and the precision with which it was executed have elicited profound concern within his community.” Sadare affirmed, “Indeed, I can verify it.” Oriade has been released. Our correspondent’s investigations disclosed that a ransom was remitted to the captors before to his release. At the time of publication, the state Police command has not issued an official statement.
