The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, captured two alleged kidnappers and armed robbers operating in the state.
While paraded the suspects at the Corps’ headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, Commander Adetunji Adeleye revealed that the suspects were apprehended at Owo, the state’s Owo Local Council Area headquarters.
Adeleye, who also stated that others were apprehended within the Oloko axis of Akure metropolis during a week-long clearance operation across the state, noted that the arrests were carried out by joint operations of security agencies in the state.
According to the Amotekun head, 164 suspects were paraded, with various stolen things recovered, while 144 were detained for law and order violations, one rape case, 15 cases of human trafficking, and one violation of the state’s anti-open grazing statute.
“One Godwin was detained for alleged murder and rape. Other suspects include Azeez (30), who is suspected of arson and escaping from lawful custody, as well as Ademola, Imole, and Japhet, all of whom are between the ages of 26 and 32 and have been detained for crimes ranging from conspiracy and abduction to assaulting security personnel.
” Emmanuel (38) and Ibrahim (20) were arrested for conspiracy, breach of peace, and possessing stolen motorcycles. Emeri and Moses were also arrested in Akure for allegedly helping human trafficking and scamming unsuspecting victims.
