There have been allegations of attempts to falsify party membership records and card numbers prior to internal political activities by supporters and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anka and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
Nura Rabiu Cibiki, who is the Director of Media and Strategy for Abdulrahaman Yahaya’s campaign and mobilisation committee, made the accusation in a statement released on Wednesday in Gusau. Yahaya is running for the House of Representatives seat representing the Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency.
They said that trying to change or copy real membership numbers could cause more friction within the party in the district and issued a warning against doing so.
“We vehemently reject any attempt to falsify or alter legal membership records, cautioning that such measures would exacerbate preexisting conflicts within the party and the Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency,” the statement read.
Anka and Talata Mafara ADC members, according to the supporters, knew how many people really belonged to the party and were ready to defend its official statistics.
Justice may be slow in coming, but the truth will emerge, the statement continued.
The party’s primary election procedure in the constituency is being challenged by Yahaya in a lawsuit filed at the Federal High Court in Gusau, which challenges alleged irregularities.
The case will be mentioned by the court on June 23, 2026.
