The Lagos State Police Command apprehended two alleged armed robbers and seized a homemade cut-to-size Danne gun together with three live cartridges during a crime prevention patrol in the Odogunyan region of the state.
The apprehension of the individuals was executed by command operatives in conjunction with local vigilante members as part of sustained initiatives to combat crime and related illicit activities throughout Lagos.
The statement revealed that the suspects were apprehended while in possession of a purse during the patrol.
The police reported that the individuals tried to escape as soon as they noticed the security personnel but were swiftly pursued and apprehended.
They were promptly detained, and an examination of the handbag they carried resulted in the discovery of one locally manufactured cut-size Danne firearm and three (3) live ammunition,” the statement indicated.
The individuals implicated were recognised as Arowolo Damilola, aged 32, and Adewale Adeyinka, aged 29.
The authorities have stated that the two individuals in question are presently in detention, cooperating with the inquiry, and will face charges in court upon the investigation’s completion.
