I am quitting Labour Party to join PRP – Datti Baba-Ahmed

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the 2023 Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, has stated that he intends to leave the Labour Party and join the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

Datti Baba-Ahmed declared this on Tuesday while answering questions during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme.

He attributed his decision to internal divisions inside the Labour Party, which he claimed had strayed from its founding goals.

“I’ll be leaving the Labour Party tomorrow, Wednesday. There’s more to it. When there was genuine peace in the Labour Party, they posted back.

“They redeployed someone for a specific purpose, and because of the individual’s history of making things unpleasant, especially for me. “What the Labour Party stood for back then is no longer relevant today,” he stated.

According to the politician, his departure from the party would take effect at midnight, and he stated that his next political destination is the PRP.

“I am leaving the Labour Party at midnight to join PRP. PRP is the newest destination. PRP is the one with the history. He continued, “It’s about 75 years old.”
