Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, has encouraged his players to take some time to rest and recharge their energy in preparation for their Premier League match against Arsenal this weekend.
On Sunday, Chelsea will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge following their impressive 3-0 victory over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
After the Blues’ win against Barcelona, Maresca revealed that he has advised his players to ‘completely switch off’ for the next 48 hours.
“I have told the players, for the next 48 hours, completely switch off, ‘Take a break. Replenish your energy.
“Because on Sunday we face Arsenal. My message after the game was simply: recover your energy. At this moment, that is the most crucial thing.
“Then, on Friday, we will begin to focus on Arsenal. We need to maintain our momentum because it feels great, and it’s much easier to regain energy when you’re winning games,” Maresca stated during his post-match interview.
