Muhammadu Buhari’s son receives APC ticket for representative contest

Yusuf Buhari, the son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has chosen the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to run for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 elections.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Yusuf picked the ticket unchallenged during a stakeholders’ meeting in Katsina on Tuesday, April 28, when he was unanimously accepted as the party’s candidate.

Alhaji Ahmed Dangiwa, former Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Chairman of the Consensus Committee for Daura Zone, announced the consensus agreement.

Following Yusuf’s adoption, Mannir Musa, APC Chairman of Mai’adua Local Government, asked party members to accept the decision in good faith.

“I urge all of our people to obey and accept the committee’s and stakeholders’ good faith consensus. We should all work together to ensure the party’s and our people’s unity and progress,” he stated.

He also urged Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda to help hopefuls who did not receive tickets so that they may continue to serve their communities.

Musa advised hopefuls awarded tickets by consensus to work for their constituents if elected in the general election.

He also announced Nasir Yahaya as an automatic candidate for the Daura senate seat and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency in the Katsina State House of Assembly.

In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari thanked party members for their faith in him and promised to deliver quality representation if elected.
