Former Abia State Governor and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has linked the recent rise in insecurity throughout the nation to politically driven individuals both domestically and internationally.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Kalu remarked that the pattern of violence resembles what transpired during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan, claiming that certain people take advantage of election periods to exert pressure on the government.
He stated that some members of the global community, in collaboration with local partners, are “orchestrating” acts of terrorism and banditry to undermine the current administration.

Kalu acknowledged that President Bola Tinubu has demonstrated a commitment to tackling the issue, noting that the President canceled all engagements on Sunday to concentrate on national security in light of recent kidnappings.
He expressed: “What we are witnessing is always predictable, something that coincides with elections. And during election times, individuals will attempt to pressure the ruling government for various issues to arise. You may recall that when President Jonathan was in office, a similar situation occurred. They exerted significant pressure on the president.
“The terrorists and bandits are being orchestrated by certain members of the international community and local individuals who genuinely wish to destabilize the government. Tinubu holds a closed-door meeting with service chiefs
