“A shining star in my cabinet” – Tinubu honors Wike on his 58th birthday

President Bola Tinubu has hailed Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as an “audacious top performer” and a “shining star in his cabinet” who overcomes challenges and achieves results.

Tinubu expressed these sentiments while celebrating Wike’s birthday. Wike turned 58 on Friday, December 13, 2025, and was honored by friends and colleagues.

Additionally, Tinubu expressed gratitude to God Almighty for blessing Wike with a life characterized by purpose, service, and bravery.

In a statement released by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the president recognized the “ongoing transformation of the Federal Capital Territory through infrastructure expansion,” pointing out the Minister’s recent efforts that resolved a 14-year delay in the construction of the Apo-Karshi road.

The President praised the Minister for his determination, “can-do attitude, and dedication to excellence in all tasks.”

He commended the FCT Minister for his unwavering commitment to delivering results and wished him continued strength to advance his positive contributions to the capital city.

“Nyesom Wike has truly been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an outstanding performer, enhancing infrastructure in the Federal capital like never before and demonstrating that his title as ‘Mr. Project’ extends beyond his home state of Rivers,” he remarked.
