Governor Kefas praises the Nigerian Army and reiterates his backing for security forces

The Nigerian Army, especially the leadership and soldiers of Headquarters 6 Brigade, have been praised by the Taraba State Government once more for their professionalism and operational efficacy in upholding peace and security throughout the state.

At the 2025 West African Social Activities (WASA) celebration of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Governor Agbu Kefas gave the praise through his Chief of Staff, Jeji Williams.

The governor commended the soldiers and Brigade Commander in his speech for their commitment and sacrifices, pointing out that their work has greatly improved Taraba State’s security.

He emphasised that close cooperation between the Nigerian Army and other security forces, working towards a common goal of stability, is what has led to the state’s current relative calm.

Additionally, Governor Kefas reiterated the state government’s dedication to assisting security agencies through ongoing cooperation, strategic alliances, and institutional support.

He asked the soldiers of 6 Brigade to continue being disciplined, professional, and mindful of human rights and the rule of law, and he said the government would give security services the assistance they need to carry out their constitutional duties.

Earlier, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), defined WASA as an important Nigerian Army custom that aims to promote unity, cohesion, and morale among commanders, soldiers, and their families.

He went on to say that the event gives staff members a chance to unwind from work-related responsibilities, re-establish a connection with their cultural background, and consider their accomplishments while finding inspiration for new endeavours.
