Robinson Ewor, former Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Acting Chairman, has stated that Governor Sim Fubara is the problem in Rivers State, not Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Ewor claimed that the people of Rivers State were given the wrong impression when the war between Wike and Fubara began.
The governor was suspended for six months following a disagreement between Wike and Fubara about who should lead Rivers State’s political system.
The duo resolved their issue after interventions from President Bola Tinubu and other important stakeholders, but the governor lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
Fubara said yesterday that the state would welcome Wike’s Rainbow Coalition.
However, during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Ewor stated that “perception is different from reality.” What I knew then and what I know today are not the same thing. The perception was that Wike did not allow Governor Fubara to perform.
“Today, we have realised that the state’s problem was not Wike, but Sim, the Governor, who was unable to be upfront with the people of Rivers.
“When the battle began, we were told that Wike would not allow the governor to carry out his duties; this is what they told the Rivers people.
“But today’s story has changed; even we have discovered that Wike was not preventing the governor from carrying out his duties, therefore the information we had then and what we know now are two different things.
“The fact before Rivers people then and the facts before we the supporters of Fubara Today are not the same facts.”
