Igbos’ contribution to APC’s victory in the FCT election was enormous, according to party chieftains

Ardo Zubariu and Chinsom Nwakanma, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, stated that Igbos in the nation’s capital contributed significantly to the ruling party’s victory in the February 21 Federal Capital Territory Council election.

Zubariu and Nwakanma, APC chieftains, signed a joint statement on Saturday.

According to them, the APC would not have won five area council chairmanship elections without the overwhelming support of the Igbo community in Abuja.

They praised the leadership of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, for mobilising locals to vote for the APC.

“We sincerely thank the South-East inhabitants of the FCT for standing with the Deputy Speaker and supporting APC candidates in the election.

Zubariu and Nwakanma, who also lead the APC Integrity Group, indicated that their solidarity and engagement were critical to the party’s success.

the Independent National Electoral Commission pronounced APC nominees the winners of AMAC, Bwari, Kuje, Kwali, and Abaji chairmanship positions, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance won Gwagwalada.
