Over a hundred people have died in flooding in Niger State, and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu of Nigeria has spoken out against the tragedy.
The president’s wife expressed her condolences over the tragedy in a statement she sent on Saturday. She said that the state’s topography and the heavy downpours were contributing factors.

Oluremi Tinubu sent his deepest sympathies and condolences to the governor of Niger State, His Excellency Hon Mohammed Umar Bago, and the citizens of Niger State.
It is tragic that the State’s geographical features and the heavy rainfall caused these disastrous floods, which wiped out lives and property.
