Operatives from the CP Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), led by ASP Julius Robinson, apprehended a 21-year-old suspected armed robber in Sapele, Delta State.
The culprit was apprehended about 03:35 a.m. on March 1, 2026
The operatives also found a manufactured Beretta pistol loaded with eight rounds of live ammo that the suspect had hidden.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement to our correspondent in Warri.
The police image maker stated, “Following persistent complaints from Sapele residents about serial robberies carried out by a motorcycle-riding syndicate, operatives of the CP Special Assignment Team, led by ASP Julius Robinson, carried out a targeted operation in the early hours of March 1, 2026.
“At about 03:35hrs, one Prince Omanure, also known as Anini, aged 21, of the Ghana Area of Sapele, was arrested.”
SP Edafe said: “During interrogation, the suspect led operatives to a bush along the Warri-Sapele Road by the Caravan Park, where a fabricated Beretta pistol loaded with eight rounds of live ammunition had been hidden.”
He continued, “The suspect has supplied valuable information to detectives, and the command is aggressively seeking additional members of the syndicate.
