The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged its members to set personal interests aside and strive for the party’s overall benefit.
The party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) released a communique following its Expanded Emergency Meeting on Wednesday.
The BoT thanked Nigerians’ support, loyalty, and solidarity with the PDP, as indicated by the ongoing nationwide e-registration of members, noting that reports from the field suggest that millions of members are registered on a daily basis.
According to the BoT, the exceptional spike in support for the party, notwithstanding the problems, demonstrates the PDP’s prominence as the preferred party of the majority of Nigerians ahead of the 2027 federal elections.
“We call on all leaders and members of our party to abandon all personal and group interests and unite as one family for the sake of our Party and the well-being of millions of Nigerians whose dreams are based on the PDP.
“We also commend the efforts of our Governors; Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for their commitment and steadfastness towards the party and wellbeing of all Nigerians,” said the Board of Directors.
