Emmanuel Macron of France has spilled the beans on the two main aspirations of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, in the midst of Russian aggression.
According to Macron, Zelenskyy wants to collaborate with the US and Europe to end the conflict in Ukraine with an unconditional ceasefire. The French president announced the news on Saturday via his official Twitter account, X.
At Saturday’s burial for Pope Francis in Rome, where world leaders gathered, he supposedly had a very cordial conversation with Zelenskyy.
The 47-year-old pointed out that Putin must now show that he wants peace with Ukraine badly enough. The war in Ukraine must end, Macron declared. We are committed to this objective, as is President Trump.
A ceasefire must be unconditional if Ukraine is to be considered. This was reaffirmed to me today by President Zelenskyy. He hopes that the Americans and Europeans will help him put it into action. President Putin must now demonstrate his sincere desire for peace.”
In the midst of the conflict in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump had already said that secondary penalties were the best way to deal with Putin. This new development follows his comments.
