Italian football analyst, Ivan Zazzaroni, has labeled Ademola Lookman’s reaction to Atalanta’s approach regarding his move to Inter Milan as courageous.
The Nigerian international has expressed a strong desire to join Inter Milan, yet his current club seems to be hindering the transfer process.
Recently, the forward deleted all mentions of the former Europa League champions from his Instagram account. This action followed Atalanta’s rejection of Inter Milan’s €45 million bid.
Lookman removed his profile picture, the phrase ‘player for Atalanta’, and all photos associated with the club from his Instagram.
“‘Ade’ Lookman has retained only his [also sporting] Nigerian identity. This is how he bravely responded to Percassi’s refusal to Inter,” Zazzaroni shared on Instagram.
In his remarks, Zazzaroni noted that Inter’s CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, interprets Atalanta’s stance as an indication of Lookman’s high value.
Naijatrial reported that Atalanta turned down Inter Milan’s €45 million offer without providing a counteroffer. This situation has left Inter in the dark regarding Atalanta’s actual asking price for the Nigerian talent.
A follow-up call between Marotta and Atalanta president, Antonio Percassi, reportedly concluded without any clarity, intensifying the deadlock.
