More than ten duplexes constructed on a green space have been granted 48 hours by the Development Control Department to be demolished by the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA.
According to NAN, the order was given by council coordinator Felix Obuah on Thursday during a joint inspection visit that targeted unlawful developments throughout the city.
Obuah detailed how the property developer had disregarded many Department of Development Control warnings and stop-work orders.
The structures in Wumba District, close to Apo, were constructed without authorization or allocation, according to him, and this was a blatant violation of the Abuja Master Plan.
According to Obuah, “we discovered there was no paper, no approval, no allocation” when they asked the developer to show legal documents for the actions they were doing.
