The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of not reinstating His Royal Highness, Eze Ohna Sergent Awuse, the Paramount Ruler of Emohua, as the Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.
Wike disclosed that Awuse had become ill and fell into a coma, during which the state government removed him from his position and appointed a substitute.
He made these comments on Sunday while visiting his supporters in Emohua Local Government Area, at the palace of His Royal Highness, Ohna Sergent Awuse, who also holds the position of Chairman of the South-South Traditional Rulers Forum.
“Chief Awuse was the Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.
“Chief Awuse fell ill and went into a coma. Instead of praying for his recovery, what did they do? They removed him as Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council.
“You need to reinstate Chief Awuse, go and reinstate him. It’s still a challenge.
“Do you think I’m a fool? Am I a fool?
“Well, there’s always a time for wrestling. Do you get what I mean? You know when wrestling begins. The main participants don’t show up at that moment,” Wike added.
Eze Ohna Awuse was succeeded by Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, the Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Wodo was appointed by Governor Fubara in 2024.
Eze Awuse is a close associate of Nyesom Wike.
During the special Christmas visit, the monarch referred to Wike as “a reliable ally,” stating, “Emohua owes you everything.”
He also commended President Bola Tinubu’s performance, mentioning that the naira has regained its value and is now sought after by other countries.
The monarch further expressed their willingness to follow wherever the FCT Minister directs and to support anyone Wike asks them to support.
