Nigerian filling stations have lowered the price of premium motor spirit as the landing cost of petrol fell further below Dangote Refinery’s ex-depot pricing.
journalists learnt on Wednesday that NIPCO, AA Rano, Eterna, and Empire Energy filling stations in Abuja had cut their fuel pump prices.
NIPCO and AA Rano reduced their fuel prices to N940 per litre, down from N950-N955.
Similarly, Eterna and Empire Energy retail locations charge N945 and 955 for N955 and N959, respectively.
This means that filling stations in Abuja have decreased their petrol pump costs by N4 to N10 per litre.
previously reported that NNPCL retail stores in Abuja reduced their pump price to N945 per litre, up from N955.
Meanwhile, retail petrol rates at other filling stations, including MRS (Dangote Petrol) and Ranoil, remained steady at N950 and N955 per litre, respectively, on Thursday morning.
“We may lower our prices in the evening, but for the time being, we continue to dispense fuel at N950 per litre,” an MRS filling station manager in Abuja told on the condition of anonymity.
This comes only days after the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria issued energy pricing data on November 3, 2025, revealing that the average cost of fuel reduced by N827.04 per litre.
This represents a decrease from N829.77 recorded at the conclusion of last month.
Checks on petrol ex-depot pricing revealed that Dangote Refinery was priced at N872, Pinnacle (N872), NIPCO (N870), BOVAS (N870), Aiteo (N870), and AA Rano.
According to Petroleumpricing, Dangote Refinery’s N2 cost more than depot owners such as NIPCO, AA Rano, and BOVAS.
