Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, was among the three players who did not participate in training on New Year’s Day.
The other two players are Ryan Alebiosu and Cyriel Dessers. Nigeria is gearing up to face Mozambique in the round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.
Head coach Eric Chelle confirmed that the team practiced behind closed doors on Thursday. However, the trio of Osimhen, Dessers, and Alebiosu were absent from the session.
Both Dessers and Alebiosu are dealing with injuries and are not expected to be ready for the match.
On the other hand, Osimhen is thought to have been given a rest as the coaching staff keeps an eye on his load management.
