In Ogun, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the road

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, has validated the death of a pedestrian who has not yet been identified. The pedestrian was involved in an accident that occurred along the Imowo-Ibadan road inward of Ijebu Ode.

The deceased was struck by a Toyota Coaster bus while attempting to cross the road on Sunday.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m., resulted in traffic congestion along the route as a result of the obstruction caused by the bus, according to a statement issued by the agency’s public relations officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi.

Akinbiyi alleged that the deceased neglected to inspect the opposite side of the road prior to crossing.

He observed that TRACE operatives and police officers from the Obalende Division were promptly dispatched to the location to oversee traffic and rescue operations.

“TRACE operatives assisted in the transfer of the presumed deceased to the OGSAS ambulance, and the body was subsequently transported to the General Hospital mortuary in Ijebu Ode,” the statement continued.

He observed that vehicular movement had been re-established, and the vehicle was evacuated and relocated to the Police Area Command in Igbeba for further investigation.
