The injury status of Iwobi is being updated by Silva

Fulham boss Marco Silva is holding out hope that Alex Iwobi will make an appearance for the club before the season comes to a close.

Last weekend, during the Cottagers’ goalless draw at Brentford, Iwobi hurt his hamstring.

Near the halftime whistle, Samuel Chukwueze, a fellow international, came on for the adaptable midfielder.

The injury caused concern that the 29-year-old might not be able to play for the rest of the season.

Though he was disappointed by the player’s injury, Silva still thinks he’ll play for the Whites before the season ends.

Losing an important player like Alex Iwobi is devastating. Getting back before the season ends is challenging, but it will happen, Silva told a press conference on Friday.

On Saturday, Fulham will host Aston Villa at Craven Cottage.
